Following the successful Future Forum at Light + Building in Frankfurt in March, the Virtual Lighting Design Community (VLDC), co-founded by Martin, brought the Future Forum to Asia during Messe Frankfurt's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE). On 9 June 2026 participants joined a hackathon-style, full-day workshop in two parallel tracks: one on human-centric health and wellbeing, the other on AI and its impact on the lighting industry. Their trends, threats and recommendations were bundled into a Manifesto for the future, shared with the whole community.
